Reputations - How Are Gardeners Remembered?
We join forces with the Garden History Society for a debate about the posthumous reputations of gardeners. In comparision to artists and architects, gardeners and garden designers seem to have a short and uncertain "half-life". Dominic Cole and Christopher Woodward will look at why this might be and also discuss the notion of heroes and heroines in the world of gardening

Auricula Theatre Opening
A unique opportunity to see show
auriculas displayed in the traditional manner
on an elaborate Auricula Theatre, designed
for the Museum by the Dowager Marchioness
of Salisbury.Lady Salisbury will unveil this year’s display and also give a talk on the history of Auriculas. Lesley Roberts from specialist nursery Pops Plants will be selling their award-winning auriculas and will give a masterclass on the care and cultivation of this fascinating plant.

Christopher Lloyd: His Life at Great Dixter Biography Launch
Garden writer Stephen Anderton will give a talk to celebrate the launch of his new biography of Christopher Lloyd. Stephen knew Christopher for over 20 years and had unprecendented access to the 100-year archive of paper at Great Dixter while working on his book.

Gardens at Night: Photographing Your Garden with Linda Rutenberg
Photographer Linda Rutenberg will lead a workshop on how to photograph your garden by night. Linda is the author of Gardens at Night and The English Garden at Night, beautiful volumes that capture the hidden nature of nocturnal gardens. This workshop coincides with an exhibition of Linda’s work in the Museum’s Magazine Space.
